PTA Announced More Details About Use of Unregistered Mobile Phones

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), on Tuesday, advised to block all unregistered mobile phones by December 31st that are not PTA verified. The time limit for registering these phones is December 1st. According to the latest news, non-compliant mobile devices (having SIM/IMEI functionality) that are active on Pakistani mobile networks till 1st December will continue active without service interruption. Non-compliant mobile devices will be paired with a user’s mobile number.

You can check the status of your Unregistered Mobile Phone easily, just dial *#06# from the dialer of the mobile device, which will show you the 15 digit IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity)number (dual SIM phones have two IMEI numbers), send the 15 digit IMEI number via SMS to short code 8484.


If you want to get a mobile phone from abroad then you can do it by accepting PTA new regulations, after that you may register phone easily and the phone will work without any issue related registration for the next many years. You can also import legal mobile phones and use them to improve usage quality and better security.

According to the expert’s opinion that the registration of mobile device would not only help to regulate the mobile phone industry but extra income of billions of rupees will also be collected. This is not the first time that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has been working on blocking of illegal.
