Former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mr. Najam Setthi says PSL 2019 Season 4 is expected to generate two Billion rupees Revenue. Before that Pakistan Super League generated profit of 300 million rupees for Pakistan Cricket Board in season 1. While talking with news channels Setthi said this is very embarrassing situation for me that I am not yet invited for PSL 2019 live matches.
Former Chairman PCB further said initially when I became chairman PCB I was told about a pending project named PSL, which was delayed because board had no expertise to organize that, it was not possible at that time at all. He said previous chairman PCB Shahryar Khan was worried to conduct PSL matches and form the league as well, because of previous financial losses of Board.
Najam Setthi also said I decided to conduct Pakistan’s largest T20 league on his own responsibility and requested the board for issuance of funds for that. He also stated, I assured the board that PSL has more chances to generate income from TV Broadcasting than the field itself.
Najam Setthi reported PSL Season 1 made income of 300 million rupees for board; while season 2 increased the profit 300 million rupees to 500 million rupees. He said this year hopefully Pakistan Super League became a brand itself, and in season 3 every match between Lahore and Karachi earned 1 Billion rupees for PCB.
According to the former chairman this year PCB is expecting two billion rupees income from PSL 2019. Setthi said at least 12 PSL matches should be conducted in Pakistan rather than 8 matches. He said Multan should have given chance to organize 4 matches as well, because Multan stadium is completely prepared for the PSL matches.
When he was asked about getting invitation from PSL 2019 for watching live matches, he answered board has not invited him to attend the matches. Although continuing his talk with media representatives he said he is in Lahore but his heart is in United Arab Emirates.
