Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday that no relief will be given after Amnesty Scheme and also hinted at launching a crackdown against the tax evaders after June 30. Before that Federal Government has announced Amnesty Scheme to convert black money into white and declaration of assets.
Whereas leading a meeting of government’s economic team in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that there would be no relief for persons not availing the tax amnesty scheme. The government’s economic team comprising advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, State Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi met with Prime Minister Imran Khan at Bani Gala.
According to details, the members discussed points of the upcoming budget that will be presented on June 11 while the Prime Minister was also updated over the Amnesty Scheme by the FBR chairman. During the meeting, Imran Khan hinted at launching crackdown against the tax evaders after June 30. He said that the institutions are with the government in the accountability process.
The meeting was also attended by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Hafeez Shaikh, Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman Shabbar Zaidi and others.
