KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan on Monday officially launched its first NBP Contactless Debit Card and Mobile Banking facilities as a step towards digitalization in the line with global changes in the banking sector. In our previous post we have also shared that NBP has introduced chip based ATM Debit card for its customers.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of NBP Contactless Debit Card held at NBP Head Office, Karachi, newly appointed NBP President Arif Usmani put emphasis on the fast digitalization which will be shaping future of the banking sector. Further he said, National Bank was aware to the future banking desires.
President Arif Usman said NBP had embarked upon various technology creativities to provide multiple delivery channels. The launch of the first NBP EMV & NBP Contactless Debt Card and Mobile Banking App are a part of the journey of the bank to provide the best products to its customers.
Arif Usmani claimed that this first NBP Contactless Debit Card had more security features than those of other commercial banks. NBP President said Bank required fast technological changes inside to match with the outside changes in the banking sector.
Further talking about NBP Contactless Debit Card launch, he said NBP had 1509 branches and it would be absolutely a big task to go for modernization and training the employees accordingly. I would try to play the best promising role in making NBP the most resourceful and profitable bank.
Mr. Muhammad Farooq, Group Head of Payment Services and Digital Banking at Head Office, Karachi said the launch of NBP Contactless Debit Card and Mobile banking facilities are most important milestones for the National Bank of Pakistan. This would provide choice to the customers amongst the leading card schemes based on their unique transnational requirements coupled with NBP’s supreme branch and ATM footprint across the country.
