After Thrilling Competition India Beat Afghanistan In World Cup 2019

SOUTHAMPTON: India beat Afghanistan in the 28th match of ICC World Cup 2019. In the match, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first, then the opener failed to keep his decision but India still defeated Afghanistan by 11 runs after thrilling competition because a hat-trick by Mohammad Shami deprived them of their first win in the ICC World Cup 2019. Chasing 225, Afghanistan was all out for 213 with only one ball left. Indian captain Kohli speaks on satisfaction with the win against Afghanistan. “It’s right up there to be honest. You win the toss and bat and think you should make 300, then you see the nature of the pitch and think 260, 270. But you play a team like Afghanistan that has a lot of talent, and they make life difficult for you.

Before that, India struggled to 224 for eight in their 50 overs against World Cup whipping boys Afghanistan, failing to get out of second gear in Saturday´s group match in Southampton. The 224 score was not the big target which Afghanistan could not chase, so India Beat Afghanistan by 11 runs in World Cup 2019.

In-form opener Rohit Sharma, who has scored two hundreds so far in the tournament, was dismissed for just one by off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman as unbeaten India made a sluggish start after opting to bat under sunny skies on England´s south coast.

The rest of India´s powerful top order all got established, with skipper Virat Kohli making 67 from 63 balls. But none went on to play a decisive innings for the two-time champions in front of thousands of their fanatical supporters. There has been a change in the Indian team where Mohammad Sami has been included in the place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
