SOUTHAMPTON: England beat West Indies in the 19th ICC World Cup 2019 match on Friday here in Southampton, host England’s Jofra Archer and Mark Wood restricted West Indies to 212 in 44 overs. Archer and Wood, with three dismissals each, stopped West Indies most batsmen from scoring big with the only exception of Nicholas Pooran who managed to score 63 before being caught off-guard by Archer. Joe Root took 2 wickets while Woakes and Plunkett both got one wicket each.

Both the teams so far have lost just one game of the tournament. England lost against Pakistan, while West Indies lost to Australia. The two teams played exceptionally great in their previous matches, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
