Data Darbar Blast Near Police Van Claims Many Lives

Suicide Blast Outside of Data Darbar Lahore Near Police Van

Breaking News: Data Darbar blast near Police Van claims many lives. According to the recent report of authorities eleven people including five officials of the Elite Force were killed and 30 others were injured on Wednesday. According to the news TV, the blast took place near the police mobile van at 8:45min on Data Darbar Gate No: 2. The martyred police officers were identified as Head Constable Shahid Nazir, Head Constable Muhammad Sohail, and Constable Muhammad Saleem. Police and Rescue sources say that it is the second attack outside Data Darbar, before that the first attack in July 2010, which killed 50 people and injured 200.

Initially police sources said that the Data Darbar blast near the elite force van at gate number 2, in which police van was targeted and five policemen and three civilians were killed, but later died Number of people reached eleven. Immediately after the blast, law enforcement agencies surrounded the area and started collecting evidence and the injured were shifted to the Mio Hospital, Lahore. While emergency was also implemented in the hospital.

Rescue sources said that 15 people injured in the Data Darbar blast were shifted to hospitals, nine of which are in very critical condition. SP City Division Lahore Syed Ghazanfar Shah has confirmed Data Darbar explosion. He said no one permitted to enter in Data Darbar, even those who were present in Darbar were also expelled.

According to the briefing of Inspector General (IG), Punjab Police Arif Nawaz Khan said 8 people including 5 policemen were martyred and 25 others were injured in Data Darbar blast and shifted in different hospitals. Whether the explosion was suicide or not, it is still being checked and the situation is not clear yet. There were reports of the explosion, but place of attack were not specified, he added.
