The Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Bismah Maroof during a press conference in Karachi said that she was not included in the committee who finalized the list of players who got Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) central contract.
Bismah Maroof while answering a question regarding the PCB’s central contract to women cricketers, said that the committee was assigned by the board which over-viewed players’ performance and finalized their names. “My name was not in the committee which selected players for central contracts,” said Bismah Maroof who is making a comeback after recovering from an injury.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PCB on January 21 gave the central contract to 17 women cricketers for the first six months of 2019.
A four-member committee comprised of Haroon Rashid (Director Cricket Operations PCB), Jalaluddin (Head of the Selection Committee), Mark Coles (Head coach women’s cricket team) and Asmavia Iqbal (Member Pakistan women’s selection committee) selected players according to their performance in the last phase of 2018.
